Mr. Jenks:
As an employee of a nonprofit, nonpartisan research, policy, and education organization formed to educate individuals and society on how to live longer and better, I read/watched the various reviews of your film this morning with great interest, and wrote about them today in our Ageism Blog. We look forward to seeing your film!

Thank you, Andrew. My father passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 89. Six of his children and his wife of 62 years were with him when he took his last breath. Tonight, I watched your documentary. It allowed me to grieve for my father...again, with sweetness. You have created a masterpiece. Thank you.

Mr. Jenks,
What a wonderful, beautiful thing you've done making this film.
I am a public school teacher, and I see this film as a way to reintroduce our young kids to the people who have come before us.
I can't thank you enough for this effort.
Very sincerely,
LAW

Mr. Jenks,
I was clicking through channels and came across your movie and was reluctant to start watching it. I missed the first few minutes, but couldn't stop watching. It was funny, insightful, surprising, warm and terrifying. I was crying practically the whole time. Thank God for people like you who have what it takes to do what you did. I don't think I would have had the strength to do it. The scene with Dotty in the hospital was truly heart wrenching and you acted like a pro and I was very impressed. Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors. I look forward to them, although I will keep a box of tissues next to me next time I think.
Thank you for a great eye-opener that NO ONE should miss.

I just happpened upon your insightful documentary tonight as I was channel surfing. I am glad I caught it from the very beginning, as I was riveted from the start. You managed to capture a glimpse of life that needs to be seen more by the viewing public. I knew nothing about you until I watched your film, then I found your blog online. Thank you for taking the time and personal energy to make this film. You are a rare individual, Andrew. I wish you well on your film-making endeavors and look forward to your next film about Bobby V.

Just watched the documentary and I have to say that it was one of the best films I have seen recently, by far. It has opened my eyes, even more so than before, to the wisdom of our elders; and it has shown me how they can still be integral parts of our society. Thank you for making such a marvelous film!

I happened upon your film by chance and I cannot even begin to express the effect it had on me... From the genuine laughter caused by the amazing Tammy and the feisty Libby to the utterly crushing loss of Dotty. Only a few generations ago our elders were venerated and now it seems that we, as a whole, cannot be bothered. You have created a brilliant reminder that someday we will be them.
Oh, and I have a sudden urge to watch Jeopardy... not so much thanks for that.

I watched your film last night on Cinemax and thought it was excellent. It really made me think differently of the older generation that I often complain about in my small town. The movie is really making me think about adopting a grandparent and many others should do the same.

Andrew,
Our family watched your film last night. I can't tell you how moved we were by what you saw and experienced. My wife and I were answering questions from our six year old daughter, who was crying much of the time, about why the residents were there and what was wrong with some of them. She has all but three of here great grandparents living yet and she was so moved because many of the residents in the film reminded her of her great grandparents. So, I think is served as a great educational tool for not only us as parents but, for younger kids as well. We stumbled accross the film and what a difference it made in our family. Congrats.
