Selection Criteria and Methodology
To determine its proprietary nursing home ratings and rankings, CareScout interprets and processes detailed state and federal inspection reports, and data from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Each government certified facility is evaluated and compared based upon objective, resident-focused inspections that monitor the quality of life and care of its residents. Violations and standards are weighted and the scope and severity of infractions are considered to distinguish their relative effect on the quality of hands-on care provided to residents. Facilities achieving a "AAA" rating had no nursing home violations (i.e., no health deficiencies) during their most recent inspection survey, and have maintained a "AAA" rating for four consecutive years. CareScout's ratings and rankings are updated quarterly.
